Math Bowl is also an academic competition for 4th and 5th graders. Practices begin in January and end at the end of February. Practice is spent earning strategies for working through different kinds of math problems and working on sample questions from past competitions. Waterloo’s team consists of twelve students with at least 2-4 alternates.
At the competition, students compete in four rounds with three team members working together to solve the problem given and each problem they get right will give a point towards our team’s score. Each team member gets a team shirt, a certificate, and if our team places in the top three they will get a ribbon.
